Jeff Zimmerman’s introduction to photography came at a young age. His father was an avid photographer. As a child, the family took many distant trips from their home in Illinois. As they traveled, it was common to hear the sound of his father’s old Pentax clicking away. It was not until 2003 when Jeff relocated to Asheville North Carolina that he rediscovered photography. Jeff now spends much of his time exploring the Appalachian Mountains capturing unique images of people, outdoor adventures and landscapes. His recent work includes a month long photo-trek through the high Andes of Peru where he photographed and experienced Peruvian culture and alpine wilderness. Jeff hopes that his work will be influential in creating a greater awareness of the need to conserve and to protect the habitats that are necessary for us to exist.
